NEW YORK – June 13, 2025 – PRLog — Ton-Up Records is pleased to announce a new campaign, Press Play. The campaign will feature a series of curated playlists from the label’s catalog with a broad selection of tracks, highlighting different aspects of each artist’s career and introducing the music to new listeners. The playlists will appear on Spotify and then roll out to other music services, including YouTube Music, Deezer, and Apple Music.

The New York City-based label’s recent releases include Only the Lonely, a new single by singer/actor Philip Paul Kelly, reissues of the albums Where’s the Mansion and Split the Dayz by alternative rockers Toy Machine Gun, and a music video for Jackson from the album First Blood by legendary country punks Blood on the Saddle.

Ton-Up Records & Music Publishing is an independent record label and music publishing company formed in 2009 by musician Eddie Star (Eddie Star & The Zero Effect, JoyBox).  In addition to Star’s music, its roster includes the legendary Punk & Western band Blood on the Saddle, Greg Davis, Philip Paul Kelly, Toy Machine Gun, and the solo catalog of 1960s legend Dean Ford of The Marmalade fame.

Paul Kelly‘s new single, Only the Lonely. Kelly brings his vocal talent, described as Neil Diamond meets
The Phantom of the Opera, to the Roy Orbison classic and the single’s B-side, Come Close, a ballad written
by composer Paul Castrataro (The Picture of Dorian Gray, Fags & Cellphones, Rockquem For A
Wrestler). Eddie Star (Eddie Star & The Zero Effect, JoyBox) signed Kelly to his label Ton-Up Records in
2022 and released his first single, Savior.

Kelly made his theater debut at 14 and has gone on to star and co-star in national tours of some of
Broadway’s biggest shows, including Titanic and Camelot. He has appeared in regional productions of Elf
The Musical, 1776, A Christmas Carol, The Full Monty, Jekyll & Hyde, Peter Pan, Beauty and the
Beast, and La Cage Aux Folles. Other notable performances include the workshop and concert of Ragtime
on Ellis Island as Admiral Peary with Brian Stokes Mitchell, Georgia Engel, Brandon Victor Dixon,
Michael Park, and Laura Michelle Kelly.

The Off-Broadway Cast Recording of Philip Paul Kelly‘s Rock-n-Roll Wrestling Spectacle, “Rockquiem For A Wrestler,” is available on Compact Disc and Music Streaming/Download Services today.

Featuring the music of Eddie Star (Eddie Star & The Zero Effect, JoyBox) and composer Paul Castrataro (Picture of Dorian Gray, Fags & Cellphones) the show about a champion wrestler created a lot of excitement among both wrestling and music fans. The “Elevated Staged Reading” streamed live on June 27, 2020, from New York City’s Triad Theater.

The single, “Savior” (One of Star’s songs) sung by Philip Paul Kelly, was released earlier this year.
